VALUE BASED CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT
A
learning environment refers to the spaces and context in which a young child
grows and learns. Many factors can affect a child’s learning experience. For
example parents, caregivers and the presence of other children can affect your
child’s learning and receptiveness. However, a child’s learning environment is
extremely important to his or her development, especially in his or her early
years.
Al-Beruni
school system has explored what makes a conducive learning environment as well
as the benefits of having a conducive environment.
i.
It is welcoming,
familiar and interesting.
Unfamiliar
environment causes a child to feel stressed, which can affect their learning.
Classroom with homely features can make children feel comfortable and in turn,
more receptive to learning.
ii.
It is diverse.
There
are a variety of new and interesting areas and features.
Different
parts of an environment should have different stimulation levels so that the
child is exposed to different opportunities for learning.
iii.
It encourages
playtime.
We
encourage an effective learning environment that encourages learning through
play. We help your children develop hand-eye coordination by providing
age-appropriate activities.
iv.
It evokes the
Senses:
In
our teaching environment, we try to make our children interact with the nature
by taking them for physical activities to improve their motor skills and to
strengthen their immune system.
v.
It is Social:
We believe in the social
interaction between children and in giving them access to different
perspectives. We encourage social interaction among children and let our
students play cooperatively side by side, encouraging social interaction.
To put into a nutshell, having a good early learning environment has lasting effects that carry through to adulthood. Students, learning in such an environment, are more socially adept. They initiate and maintain successful relationships in life as well as have greater self-confidence, higher self-esteem and show healthy attitudes towards learning.
