FACILITIES FOR STUDENTS
1. Audio Visual Resource:
Al-Beruni’s teaching philosophy goes beyond classroom education and we ensure that we supplement the theoretical instruction with audio visual aids. To assist us in this effort, in our school there is Audio Visual Resource, which simplifies learning through multi-media facilities. Students have access to facts in a more interesting manner and can view presentations based on various subjects and other value based information. Through these aids, the teachers are able to disseminate knowledge via, documentaries, talk shows, quizzes, debates and motivational lectures by well-known and respected personalities that provide an insight into our country’s culture and heritage. These audio visual sessions are highly interactive as the teacher has the capability to pause the recording allowing students to ask questions and take maximum advantage of the learning being imparted.
Our AVR room is spacious and airy and is a learning-based to enhance the interest in knowledge and foster interaction between students and teachers.
2. Library:
A school’s library is the centre for learning and it plays a crucial role in boosting innovation, problem solving and curiosity. It acts as a facilitator for reading and knowledge that enhances the learning capability of students and teachers alike. The school library is the central point for engaging in cultural activities, reading, accessing information and deep analytical thinking. Our library is looked after a well-trained librarian and an assistant librarian to assist students and teachers identify the books and resources of information on a particular subject. They also answer queries that are related to the material stored here and are particular about the rules and regulations that govern this exhilarating space. The students are helped through guided reading as the teacher accompanies students to the library and the librarian guide students towards appropriate materials for their extensive reading so that they do not while away and utilize their time purposefully.
Our library houses a large and rich collection of resources that include books, videos, CDs, DVDs, newspapers and periodicals. These range from general reference materials to specialized information. The reference section includes encyclopedias, linguistics and biographical dictionaries, atlases, handbooks and directories.
3. Healthy Eating:
As researches show that healthy body leads to healthy mind, hygienic and nutritious food contributes immensely to make children healthy and active. Homely made eatables in lunch boxes provide children’s brain with the nutrients it needs, and missing out on healthy food can negatively affect their school performances. Children, who consume foods like fruits, perform better in academics and sports.
To keep in the view the substantial benefits of neatly prepared flourishing food, Al-Beruni School System discourages students from buying eatables from canteens or hawkers and encourage them to bring homely made nourishing eatables.
4. Auditorium
Al Beruni Model Secondary school promotes new avenues for the all-round development of the students. An important and critical feature of our school’s facilities is the auditorium. This grand hall has been the centre stage for a number of our students who have the talents of public speaking as well as for conducting literary competitions and motivational lectures.
The auditorium is the battle-field for several intra-school competitions such as spelling bee, extempore speech, debates and quizzes among the students showcase their finest talents. In addition, a number of ceremonies, events and lectures are held that encourage teamwork and pride among students. All these lavish events demand a set of facilities and technology that each person in this large space can clearly hear and see everything that is being presented.
The physical space of the auditorium is lavish, spacious, airy and comfortable. The contemporary sound system ensures that each word is clearly audible to the audience seated in the hall. To ensure that there are no external disturbances, the auditorium is sound proof. The whole set-up of the auditorium is like many feathers in one cap.
